Magellan of Virginia is committed to developing and implementing enhancements to the authorization and registration submission process. Effective July 1, 2017, Magellan will transition Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR), procedure code H2017, to a registration process. Registration is a notification to Magellan that a service will occur. The purpose is to ensure appropriate care coordination for members. Registration is intended to be a streamlined process and requires providers to submit limited information. That information includes identifying information for the member and provider, the service procedure code, diagnosis and date of initiation of the service. This information can be submitted to Magellan online via the provider web portal: www.magellanhealth.com/provider

Registration of Psychosocial Rehabilitation applies to new cases starting July 1, 2017 and later. Submission of the registration is required within two business days from the initiation of services. Registration is required for reimbursement.

Magellan will honor existing PSR authorizations with end dates beyond July 1, 2017 and will not require submission of a registration. Registrations will be required for any dates of service beyond any previous authorization.

As a reminder, outcome questions are not tracked for registrations. Because of this, outcome questions will be removed from PSR on July 1, 2017.
